Boxed Game Description
Description of Brandywine Creek, September 11, 1777 – Battles of the American Revolution, Volume II
Publisher: GMT Games, LLC Designer: Mark S. Miklos
Brandywine is a 2 player game of the attempted ‘ambush’ of the British marching to occupy Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from Point of Elk, Maryland with 14,000 troops, including crack German mercenaries and American Loyalists, all under General Howe.
General Washington was prepared, or so he thought, along the road from Maryland to Philadelphia. The British showed up, but not in full force. Was there a flanking movement, taking the long way around to the west, and coming up on his right rear?
The campaign game has a lot of drama, as the strongest troops show up a long distance away, just within range of a rapid redeployment of American troops, if they move quickly, while disengaging from the fierce German attacks across Brandywine Creek.
There are four scenarios, lots of action, and a few heroes. (Lafayette lead a cavalry charge!)
Low complexity, high Solitaire Suitability. Contains a 22 x 34 inch Map, Rule Book, including four scenarios, two Player Aid Cards, 176 5/8″ Counters, and one 10-sided die.
